New England's Season Sparks Sweet Memories

It was nearly ten years ago that the Denver Broncos had their last great Superbowl Season. We went 12 weeks without a loss and each time another team does that it reminds me of that awesome time.

I was living in New York City, I was single, I was just hitting my 30s and I loved watching football in the cold weather on Eastern time. I watched Denver games in 2 different regular bars - one was brutally destroyed on 9/11 (The Marriott) and one was the Riviera Cafe. I loved watching weekly with all the other fans from another city.
I distinctly remember the 63 yard field goal by Jason Elam that season. Wow.

The irony is we discounted our game with the NY Giants on week 14 and we lost. It happens to the best of teams, the Patriots nearly lost to the Eagles, no one saw that coming. Hell, I went to a Ducks game last Sunday night expecting just another boring Pats-scoring-like-crazy blowout.

Ah the memories. Good times.

PACKERS OR COWBOYS?

Personally I am going with Brett Favre on this one. I realize both teams are awesome, the Cowboys have a powerful offense and it's in Dallas, but my gut is telling me that Favre's Pack will win this game. I hope it's as spectacular and grandiose as I imagine it to be. I cannot wait! You gotta love the return of Thursday night football, thanks NFL network and my new best friend, DirecTV!

As for our beloved Broncos, wow. What a crushing loss to ech, ech, Rex Grossman. Well, actually we lost to Devin Hester, but what-ever. I still am thankful for Jay Cutler's evolution. Something good is definitely starting to happen in Denver - long term anyway.

Okay, so tomorrow night, Favre, Romo and some cold beer and leftovers! Yeehaw! - Angela

Never give up!

In football, you should never give up on your team! I have been a Bronco fan for many years now. We have made it to Super Bowls and several playoffs. This year, not so good. I was getting so mad at them. I was just not used to rooting for a bad team. So I decided to give it to them and NOT pick them in my pool. I have now learned my lesson. They, of course, won! The moral of the story it to NEVER give up on your team. They will have good years and bad years (I hope not too many bad).
Good thing I'm not a Raider fan! I wouldn't make it with them sucking all the time!

Our New Home

When we first created this blog, we used the free service offered with our hosting, but found it to be a little too much work. Now we're here at Blogger and hope that the new, easy to use app will get us blogging more. There is so much to talk about.

Our Broncos finally gave us a reason to smile last Sunday. It's been a rough year for us Broncos fans. We have no dillusions of a post season, but we'll keep cheering to stay ahead of KC and Oakland and possibly do some damage to San Diego's run. I am very happy with our new RB, Young. Hope he continues to impress.

This week we have a Monday night game in Denver hosting Tennessee, oh that Young is good, so I hope our D can step up like they did against KC. According to the injury report, Lynch is practicing so I hope that means he'll play. You can really see how we're suffering without him out there.

Welcome to our blog if you just found us. Hope you stick around and join in the conversation. We love NFL!
