Broncos are 3-0, Topping the AFC West. For now.

I know, I know, the Broncos really have no shot of staying atop their division for long. Especially when the next four weeks bring Dallas, San Diego, New England and Baltimore our way. Yikes!

Okay, so I have never really known where this blog would go and I really just created it as an outlet to discuss football, hoping my enthusiasm might engage other football enthusiasts. Interestingly though, one of my oldest friends is just discovering football. Her son seems to really like it so she's getting into it. I love when she asks me to help her learn 'how' to watch it. During the week 2 morning games she texted to me "Go Eagles" (she is from Philly originally) to which I replied...oh I took New Orleans. When we briefly spoke later she said she got similar replies to her Facebook status, to which I explained that most people root for the team they took to win in a pool. Of course I always take my team. Go Broncos. But I digress...

This week she left a voicemail Sunday morning (which I didn't actually hear till today) asking why the Philly game was not on CBS when that was what the paper said. I love her newbie style! So here's the answer: the networks show games differently by region, typically up to 3 different games. CBS and Fox show games on Sundays, alternating which station has 2 for the day. Also, the game in your city can be blacked out locally if it did not sell out. I know sucks but true. This is the reason sports bars and DirecTV NFL ticket are so popular. So yes, your Philly game was on CBS, however it was likely on the East Coast feed.

Hope this helps my friend. Oh and we have NFL ticket at home so feel free to come by any Sunday for football. We get rolling about 9 am for pre-game shows and the fun lasts until the end of the night game. See you next week?

Oh and a side note...my DirecTV HD box on the biggest tv we have has been not working (they are coming out tomorrow) and let's just say that I'd hate to work in customer service at DirecTV during football season.
